Dougie Donnelly is one of Scotland’s most recognisable and respected television presenters and sports broadcasters, with a career spanning more than four decades. Beginning his broadcasting career with Radio Clyde in the 1970s, Dougie quickly became one of the station’s most popular voices, twice being voted Scottish Radio Personality of the Year.

Moving into television with BBC Scotland, Dougie became a familiar face to millions through programmes including Sportscene, Grandstand, Sportsnight, rugby internationals and football World Cup coverage. He also became widely known across the UK for his work covering golf, darts, snooker and bowls, as well as presenting ITV’s World’s Strongest Man.

Golf has always been closely associated with Dougie’s broadcasting career, having fronted the BBC’s coverage of The Open Championship for many years before becoming lead presenter and commentator for European Tour Productions’ worldwide golf coverage. His work has taken him around the globe covering some of the sport’s biggest tournaments and interviewing many of golf’s greatest names.

Today, Dougie is also one of the country’s most popular after dinner speakers and awards hosts.
