ERIC DAVIDSON • AFTER DINNER SPEAKER & COMEDIAN
Eric Davidson is one of Scotland’s most distinctive and original after-dinner speakers and comedians, renowned for a style that is refreshingly different from the norm. Combining sharp observation, storytelling and musical comedy, Eric has built a reputation as a hugely entertaining performer who keeps audiences laughing from start to finish at corporate events, sporting dinners, Burns Suppers and charity functions across the UK.
Raised in the Midlothian mining village of Newtongrange — which Eric fondly describes as “the crème de-la-skimmed milk of Scottish mining villages” — he discovered his love of performing at an early age. From a memorable Stylophone rendition of My Ding-A-Ling at a church talent show, through ventriloquism, punk bands and comic poetry, Eric gradually developed the unique style that has made him one of Scotland’s most sought-after after-dinner entertainers.
Since joining the busy after-dinner circuit in 2003, Eric has appeared at countless high-profile events alongside leading sporting figures, politicians and television personalities. He has entertained audiences at the Scottish Football Writers’ Dinner, the Scottish PGA Lunch, testimonial dinners for Tommy Burns and Danny McGrain, and major Burns Suppers throughout Scotland, while also becoming a regular sell-out performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Eric’s originality, timing and versatility have earned him several prestigious speaking awards, including victories at the renowned St Columba’s Hospice “Wit of Wits” dinners and the Edinburgh WAGS Dinner. Whether delivering sharp one-liners, musical comedy or brilliantly observed stories from Scottish life, Eric Davidson remains one of the country’s finest and most memorable after-dinner performers.
