Jimmy Nicholl is a hugely respected figure in football, with a career that spans the very top level of the game as both a player and a manager. Born in Canada but proudly representing Northern Ireland national football team, he earned 73 international caps and built a reputation as a tough, dependable defender who could be relied upon in any situation.

At club level, Jimmy made over 600 senior appearances, most notably with Manchester United, where he played between 1974 and 1982. During that time, he was part of the side that lifted the FA Cup in 1977, defeating Liverpool at Wembley in one of the club’s most memorable victories. His career also took in spells with Rangers FC, Sunderland AFC and West Bromwich Albion, giving him a wealth of experience across British football.

He later moved into management, most notably with Raith Rovers FC, where he enjoyed remarkable success — including a Scottish League Cup triumph and promotion to the top flight.
