Willie Hunter is a highly experienced after dinner speaker, Burns speaker and event host, whose warm personality, sharp wit and relaxed delivery have made him a popular figure on the Scottish speaking circuit for many years. Equally at home at corporate events, sporting dinners, charity lunches and Burns Suppers, Willie’s natural storytelling style and engaging manner have earned him an excellent reputation with audiences across the country.

Away from the speaking circuit, Willie enjoyed a long and successful career with leading Edinburgh legal firm Gillespie Macandrew, where he became one of the firm’s senior partners. He was also closely associated with the well-known property business Hunters, bringing a wealth of business experience and professionalism to every event he attends. His ability to mix humour, observation and real-life experience gives his presentations a warmth and authenticity that audiences immediately warm to.

Over the years Willie has shared top tables with many of the biggest names from the worlds of sport and entertainment, including Rory Bremner, Ronnie Corbett, Elaine C Smith, Bill McLaren, Jack Charlton and Tommy Docherty amongst many others. A highly respected Burns speaker, he has appeared at numerous Burns Suppers and St Andrew’s Night events throughout the UK and internationally, with speaking engagements taking him everywhere from Amsterdam and Cairo to Abu Dhabi.

A lifelong supporter of Heart of Midlothian, Willie was for many years a familiar face at Tynecastle Park, where he acted as resident MC within the club’s main hospitality suite. He also enjoyed a lengthy rugby career with Watsonians, proudly sharing the pitch with Gavin and Scott Hastings during his playing days.
