Deborah Leslie is one of Scotland’s most engaging and distinctive after-dinner speakers, bringing warmth, wit and a wonderfully natural storytelling style to every event. A proud North-east native, she combines sharp observation with a rich sense of humour, quickly putting audiences at ease and keeping them entertained from start to finish.

A self-confessed “born bletherer”, Deborah was raised in a traditional farming community in the North-east, where ambition wasn’t always centre stage. After an early spell working as a dentist’s assistant in Torry, she eventually took the leap into the world of writing and speaking—proving that sometimes the best stories come from those who take the scenic route.

Now an established published author, Deborah has written both short stories and children’s novels, and is a passionate champion of the Doric dialect. Her unique blend of “coorse couthiness” and quick-fire wit gives her material a distinctive edge, while her natural charm ensures it lands perfectly with audiences of all backgrounds.
