DES CLARKE • COMEDIAN & AFTER DINNER SPEAKER
Des Clarke is one of Scotland’s most recognisable comedians, presenters and after-dinner entertainers, with a career spanning stand-up comedy, television, radio and live events. A natural storyteller with a quick wit and hugely likeable style, Des has become a familiar face and voice across Scottish entertainment, equally at home hosting major events, fronting breakfast radio or keeping a corporate audience laughing after dinner.
A hugely experienced broadcaster, Des has appeared on programmes including SMTV Live, Sportscene, Offside, Children in Need, Still Game and The Dog Ate My Homework, while also hosting the closing ceremony of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. He is also widely known for his radio work, having fronted successful breakfast and drivetime shows on Beat 106, Xfm, Capital Scotland and now Heart Scotland, where he currently hosts Heart Breakfast.
Alongside his broadcasting success, Des remains a highly respected stand-up comedian, performing regularly at top comedy venues and festivals including The Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow International Comedy Festival and comedy festivals around the world. His relaxed delivery, sharp observational humour and ability to instantly connect with audiences have made him one of the country’s most sought-after hosts and live performers.
As an after-dinner speaker and awards host, Des brings warmth, professionalism and genuine crowd-pleasing humour to every event. Whether entertaining at corporate dinners, charity events, sporting occasions or private functions, he combines the polish of a seasoned broadcaster with the natural charm and humour that have made him such a popular figure throughout Scotland and beyond.
