DES McLEAN is one of Scotland’s best-known comedians, presenters and entertainers, with a career spanning stand-up comedy, television, radio and theatre. A multi award-winning performer, Des has appeared on stages across the UK and around the world, including tours of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as performing at the iconic Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas.

A hugely experienced broadcaster, Des became a familiar voice to listeners across Scotland during his five years co-hosting the hugely successful Clyde 1 Breakfast Show, winning three Sony Radio Awards along the way. On television he has presented programmes for both BBC and STV, including appearances on The One Show, Hogmanay specials, The Hour and Too Good To Waste.

On stage, Des combines sharp observational comedy with outstanding storytelling and audience interaction, making him a hugely popular choice for corporate events, awards dinners and comedy nights. Alongside stand-up, he has also received critical acclaim for his acting work, including playing the lead role in I Tommy and starring in a number of major theatre productions and pantomimes.

Des has continued to evolve and reinvent his live work throughout his career, from his hugely successful A-Z of Scotland tours and best-selling DVDs to creating the acclaimed online production Comedy Club In Your Front Room during lockdown. More recently he has hosted the Des McLean Comedy Stage at Party at the Palace, cementing his reputation as one of Scotland’s most versatile and enduring live entertainers.
