SCOTT HASTINGS - AFTER DINNER SPEAKER
SCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL RUGBY PLAYER • GRAND SLAM WINNER
Scott Hastings is one of Scotland’s best-known rugby personalities, enjoying a distinguished playing career before becoming a respected broadcaster and popular after-dinner speaker. Warm, witty and full of stories from elite sport, he is an excellent choice for corporate events, sports dinners and charity occasions.
A powerful centre, Scott won 65 caps for Scotland between 1986 and 1995 and was a key figure in one of the nation’s strongest eras. He played in three Rugby World Cups and helped Scotland win the 1990 Five Nations Grand Slam, one of the great achievements in Scottish rugby history.
Rugby talent ran in the family, with Scott famously playing alongside his brother Gavin Hastings, one of Scotland’s greatest full-backs and a former national captain. The Hastings brothers became iconic figures in Scottish sport and inspired a generation of players and supporters.
Away from rugby, Scott built a strong broadcasting career in television and radio, where his lively opinions and humour made him a favourite with audiences. He is also widely respected for his charity work, particularly his long support of motor neurone disease causes.
